- The Overall Championship is determined by summing the points earned by each athlete's top 10 events. However, to be eligible for the Overall Championship a rider must compete in at least one Criterium, one Road Race and one Time Trial. It is not necessary to earn points in each of these events.
- State Championships will be scored using 1.5X the point value of non-championship events.
- We will score to 15 places. Points will be awarded: 25, 21, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
- Two velodrome events have been added to the Michigan Challenge. Racers participating in the 200m and 4000m time trial may earn Michigan Challenge points.
- Racers will be awarded points based on the actual finish position.
- Racers from NW Ohio and SW Ontario will be eligible for MI Challenge Points this year (MVW, Maple Leaf, etc.).
- Racers will only score points in the category that appears on their license. Racers who upgrade during the season may not take their accumulated points to their new category.
- We will have a Cat. 1/2 Team prize, based on the top 3 placed team riders in each race, places 1 to 15.
- For results to be tabulated for the Michigan Challenge, promoters MUST submit the results to the MBRA Webmaster using the standardized USAC results template in Microsoft Excel. If results are not submitted in this format, the results will NOT be included as part of the Michigan Challenge and the event will be removed from the series.
- Before submitting the USAC results template to the MBRA, the promoter should first try to submit them through the USAC results database. This will help identify errors. The USAC database will register errors and make suggestions on how to correct these errors.
- We will try to help promoters report the top 15 riders in each class, but recognize that many classes and races may not have 15 finishers.
- 'LEADER' numbers will be distributed to each promoter for every category. This special bib will identify the current leader in each category. If the leading racer in a category is participating in the event, they MUST wear the 'LEADER' bib with the exception of Time Trial events which is optional. The 'LEADER' bib must be placed horizontally across the racer's rear pockets.
- If the series leader does not wear their Michigan Challenge ‘LEADER’ bib number, they may be subject to disqualification from the series.
- At the end of the year, a framed number designating the winner of the overall Michigan Challenge series will be presented to each category leader.
